Meet Student Dr. Antoine Wright | Kalkstein Chiropractic, Towson MD

Meet Student Dr. Antoine Wright | Kalkstein Chiropractic, Towson MD

We are so excited to welcome Dr. Antoine Wright as our inaugural student in our 8-month clinic rotation program (preceptor) developed in conjunction with our alma mater, Logan University.

Dr. Antoine Wright attended Catonsville High School and then Towson University where he majored in Exercise Science before attending Logan University. He currently lives in Catonsville with his sister. He played football, rugby, and wrestled in high school and college, so he’s very familiar with issues that affect athletes. His hobbies include fishing, anything outdoors, and spending time with his family.

At Logan University, Dr. Antoine Wright was a tutor for multiple classes including Anatomy 1, 2, and 3, Neuroanatomy 1 and 2, Physiology 1, 2, and 3, and Biochemistry 1 and 2. He holds advanced certification in McKenzie technique, Gonstead technique, Thompson technique, Active Release Technique, and Selective Functional Movement Assessments.

In case you’re not familiar with how chiropractic school works, it’s 3 years 4 months (10 trimesters or quarters, depending on the school) long and the last year of school is dedicated to outpatient work. If you’d like to be a preceptor and get real-world experience, you can during your 10th trimester before graduation. We’ve found that precepting for a trimester is just not long enough to learn everything you’d like to learn on the job.  So, we developed a program where student doctors can develop the skills necessary for treating patients and running a business. Antoine is our inaugural student and we’ll be taking 2 student doctors at a time in the future. This program is first of its kind in Maryland and with Logan University.

Dr. Jason Goodman, DC is the director of student clinical rotations at Logan University said that our clinic was "very impressive. You have a great operation there and I am looking forward to a bright future together educating the next generation of chiropractors."

In Maryland, student chiropractors, under the guidance of a licensed supervising chiropractor, can practice all aspects of chiropractic treatment.  So once Dr. Antoine completes his initial phase of precepting, he will start treating patients. During the course of his preceptorship, he’ll be attending a dry needling class and become certified in functional strength coaching.  Working with our team, Dr. Antoine will have access to over 45 years of combined chiropractic experience to accelerate his clinical training.

We’re thrilled about this new 8-month clinic rotation program with Logan University and we’re excited to have Dr. Antoine Wright as part of our team!

Of course, we’re happy to answer any questions you have about becoming a chiropractor. You’ll be seeing more of Dr. Wright in our upcoming YouTube videos!
